The heat here has been almost unbearable during the day and the sun beating down into the building has made it hot inside too. So the same day I got the blinds for the big room I decided to pick up some curtains for the upstairs balcony door. You can already feel the difference in temperature.

I had a hard time drilling into the concrete wall above the door. Thankfully one of the fellows from the village stopped by to center right when I was working on stuff and helped me tremendously. Thanks Dani!
I have been looking for the right size blinds for the all-purpose room and finally this week I had some success. I didn’t think curtains would be the right choice, but I was having a hard time finding the sizes I need for venetian blinds and roll up blinds. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do, but thank the Lord I found these bamboo roll up blinds that fit just right. You can also see in the picture a small black PVC border that I put in this week. This will help to protect the wall from bumps and scratches from the vacuum cleaner

The kids were around to “help” me with the border, but mostly they wanted to jump around on their big bouncy balls
. They have been able to play several days in the all-purpose room while I was busy working on other things and they are enjoying themselves tremendously.

I was only able to get one picture of the kids sitting still.

Everyone was bouncy. You can tell by the blurry forms
Yesterday I was finally able to get the side hall downstairs painted. I had plans for a few weeks to get it done, but something else always seemed to come up. So yesterday I finally had a few hours to finish up. I was just about to fiinish when Dorin called me and asked I could run some of his school papers to Salonta (a town about 30 mins away). He had forgotten them and needed them ASAP. Thankfully I was able to finish up the small portion of painting I had before running into town. Never a dull moment

The side hallway going towards outside

The other half of the hallway. Straight ahead is the door to the all-purpose room, to the left the kitchen, to the right the restrooms.

Just wanted to say to my dad……

Thanks Dad for instilling in me, by your example, a strong work ethic. As I grew up I can hardly remember a day that you didn’t go to work to support your family. I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I hadn’t followed your example of working hard. Hope you have a great day! Love you!
The carpet for the big room has been delivered and we actually finished gluing everything into place Saturday afternoon. Thank the Lord! It was a big task and most of the hard work was done by Luci and Dani. Thanks guys for all your help!

The carpet is installed . YEAH!

We were also able to put the carpet in the big room upstairs. Again Luci and Dani did most of the work. The couch and the mattress were being stored in the big room downstairs, so we relocated them to the upstairs.
