With Easter just around the corner, we are busy working on programs both with the children and the teens.. This year as I was looking for new songs to sing with the teens, I found a song that was translated from English into Romania “The power of the cross”. I decided to look online for an instrumental that we could possibly sing along with. As I was searching I found a youtube video that was very moving and gave me an idea. Here is the video I found:
I have to tell you that the first time I watched this video, I cried. It was so moving. It was a reminder to me about what Jesus went through for me and for you.
After I watched the video, I began to think, why can’t we do something like this. A type of play. Just as in the first verse of this version of the song, there are sound bytes, I decided we would try to have a short play that fits around the song.
We had our first practice Sunday PM. I showed the teens the youtube video to help them get a better idea and also to help them to remember what Jesus did for all of us, how he suffered. I am praying that this play will have a great impact. Please pray for us.
I took some pictures from my Friday meeting with the kids and I thought you might like to see a few of them.
The kids waiting for Kid’s Club to begin
Before the kids enter into the all purpose room I have them take off their shoes. Friday, this is the assortment of shoes we had (plus a few more from the kids that came in a little later) When I look at this picture I see all different types of shoes, different sizes, styles, colors etc. and just as each pair of shoes are different, I am reminded that each child has his or her own likes and dislikes, each child has different struggles in their families, they each are different in their own way. And I love getting to know each child individually.
Each gathering we have, there is a time of prayer. I tell the children that each person who wants can lead out in prayer and I am happy that there are so many that choose to lead in prayer. Many of them pray to ask God to help them to behave better, they pray asking God to help them not sin (things like stealing, lying, cheating, fighting) and many of them seem to be showing a genuine interest in learning more about God. These children are the future church and I am praying that they will give their hearts to God at a young age before they have the opportunity to get involved in the things of the world.
I got a picture with Ghita recently and I just can’t believe how tall he is already. I told him that he would soon be passing me up. It seems like just yesterday that he was just a little fellow. Now he is in his teens.

Let me show you the two little cuties. They are brother and sister, Carmen and Sergiu. Thankfully they have been very well behaved and fairly obedient.
