Since Monday was a holiday, I had nothing planned, so I took advantage of this and in the morning I spent about an hour at the beach and then spent the afternoon and evening with the Tim Boyd family. I took a few pictures of the Atlantic ocean and I really enjoyed relaxing and reading a book.
I was reminded of the beautiful world that God created.
As I was watching the waves roll in, the last verse to the song, “The Love of God” came to my mind:
“Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade;
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry;
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.”
Refrain:
Oh, love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure—
The saints’ and angels’ song.”
How wonderful God’s love to us.
I also really enjoyed having an evening of fellowship with the Boyd family. Even though I lost at Phase 10, almost every game of Skip-Bo and 3 times at Clue, we had a blast laughing and talking and just maxing and relaxing
. Sorry I didn’t have my camera with me.
Trust you had a blessed Memorial Day and thanked God for the freedom we have in America. Also I trust you thought about those who serve or have served in the military and thanked them for their great sacrifice.
“Memorial Day is a day of remembrance to honor the fallen heroes who fought for our freedom but never came home to enjoy that freedom themselves, those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for others. It is a time not only to honor those who died, but also a time to remember those who lived, but came home wounded in body, mind and spirit. And it is a day to remember those who continue to serve this magnificent country and ensure the freedom that we enjoy each and every day. Memorial Day is also a time to remember that our freedom is never free, and that much was given up for what we have today. “ Shannon White
