Of course when young people get together, there is always some time for fun.
There were a few interesting looking things that everyone wanted to get their picture taken with
(me included)

That’s Tibi in the background with his addition to the picture

Dorin thought the cabbage looked better in the vase
Sunday was our Thanksgiving Day at church. Romania doesn’t have a date set aside like we do in America, but each Evangelical Church picks a Sunday in November to give thanks to God.
Saturday the youth got together to decorate. We had a nice time together. Most of the things that were brought in were things harvested at home. Usually people pick the best from their gardens to put up front to show God’s blessings to them.

The end result

It was a bit challenging this year to decorate because for most of the 3 1/2 hours we were decorating there was no electricity. You can see the lanterns in some of the next few pictures. The flash from the camera helped to get a good picture.

Trying to prepare things with a latern….what fun

Trying to see to put the finishing touches.

All the beautiful flowers were also from the people’s homes.

So Elvi and Georgi were just about finished filling up the tins and the boys of course knew what that meant…..

They got to eat what was left over

Good down to the last drop

Frosting and final touches

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Elvi, Happy Birthday to you!
She seemed pleased with the final result

Elvi had a birthday last week and she is now 9 years old. She is growing up so fast. She decided she wanted to make cupcakes for her birthday and of course Elvi wanted Georgi to help her
. They had a blast making the batter and filling the tins and then of course decorating them. Thanks to my sister Cindy, I had some frosting from the states that I just had to open up and spread.

Preparing the batter

Mixing it up

Elvi and Georgi each had their own pans to fill with batter. Ionel and Marius kept coming to check the progress of the work and in the next post you will see why

The girls decided they wanted to dress up in some of my clothes the other day…Of course they had to put on my boots too. Well the boys wanted to play too, so they got out other dress up things from their toys. Of course had to take pictures

Can you tell that Marius is the ham of the group?…Notice the large boots on his feet
. He wanted to wear my boots too

Neli was giggling so hard, I could hardly get a picture
