Well it has been another few weeks filled with so many different things I’m not sure where to begin.  First let me apologize for not keeping up on my blog.  The few times I had an extra minute or so to blog, my internet was down.  So goes life :)

Well let me just tell you about the medical stuff that has been going on lately.  Since my last post I have been to the E.R. another 2 times and different doctor’s offices 7 more times (one being just yesterday)

Denisa was having problems with hiccups that wouldn’t go away (I tried everything I knew to do and even checked out ways online to try to treat hiccups) After seeing no results and actually the hiccups getting worse, we took her to the E.R. where they gave her an injection and her hiccups stopped finally after having lasted about 5 hours. Not before I ran around to 9 different pharmacies looking for a medicine that the hospital didn’t have.  (fun, fun, fun :) )

Friday, the teens and I were at the center and Oti (one of the youth from the church)tried to jump up on the shoulders of another fellow, slipped, fell and broke his arm.  (another trip to the E.R.)  He actually had to stay in the hospital a few days due to the seriousness of the break, but now he is home and doing much better.

Then of course the “normal” sickness and follow-up appointments just added up to a lot of hours taking care of health issues.  Thank the Lord everyone seems to be doing well now.

It was funny, I have been through the gate at the hospital at least a dozen times now in the past 2 months, that the guy who opens and closes the gate recognized me from all the hospital experiences (Marius, Alexandra, Denis and and Oti) and asked me: “Are all the kids in Talpos sick ?”  :)

Other than the few health problems things are going well.  God is helping and we are busy preparing for Easter programs.  I would appreciate your prayers during this busy time.  I will try to get some pictures up of the kids in the next few days.  God bless!

Thank you so much for praying for Alexandra.  When we went to see the doctor for a recheck he said he was “amazed” at her progress.  Thank the Lord!  He also told me her lungs were clear and he would have never thought she would be doing so well, but God touched her.

We are still doing the occasional nebulizer treatment, but that is a small thing compared to what she was taking before.  Thank you again for your prayers.

While Alexandra was sick and staying at my house she celebrated her birthday.  She is now 3 years old.  Larissa’s birthday is a day after Alexandra’s, so Eva made a beautiful cake for both of them.  But because she was so sick and we didn’t want her out in the cold, Alexandra wasn’t able to go to the orphanage to celebrate with all the kids.  So Eva sent a part of the cake to my house and all the children sang, “Happy Birthday” over the phone.   I have a picture of her waiting to blow out the candles…..

And of course while she blew out her 3 candles.

Happy Birthday Alexandra and God bless you and keep you in His care and our prayer is that as you grow you will give Jesus your heart.  We love you!

Since being home from the hospital, Alexandra has seemed to be doing much better.  She had been taking her prescribed medicine and we thought the worst was over.  Well, Wednesday evening she started coughing again and her lungs were sounding bad, so Thursday I took her to see a pediatrician in Salonta.

After listening to her lungs, discussing her symptoms and looking over her discharge papers from the hospital, the doctor thought she may have to be readmitted.  After some discussion we decided to try to treat her first at home, with the understanding that if her symptoms worsen, she would be taken directly to the hospital.

So I bought a nebulizer, picked up her six different prescriptions and began her treatments.  We decided it would be best for Alexandra to stay with me for the next few days, that way I can keep a better eye on her, prepare her nebulizer treatments (no nice pre-measured, pre-mixed, single dose packs), administer her medications and be close if there are any complications.

Thank the Lord, already today, her lungs sound better, she is coughing less and she seems to be feeling better.  Please pray that Alexandra’s symptoms would not worsen and pray that God would touch her and help her through this sickness. God is able!
